Please be assured that credit/debit card transactions processed through our on-line garden centre are protected and secure. Our web-site is hosted on a secure server. Please be advised that no financial details are stored on our servers, neither from website transactions nor those from other methods of transaction communication.
You are advised not to e-mail your credit card details to us as this is not a secure method of transmitting information. If you are unable to complete your transaction on-line you can place your order via telephone or fax, but the prices may be higher, as prices quoted on our website are for orders placed online only (please see below).
The prices quoted on our website are only valid for orders placed using our online shopping facility and are subject to change on a daily basis. Special offers are subject to availability which is finite. We reserve the right to revise prices without prior notice in the event of unforeseen circumstances. All prices on our web-site include 20% VAT except for zero-rated items such as fruit stocks.
Carriage & Packing Charges
The total carriage and packing charge will be displayed after you fill in the delivery address details, since it is calculated according to the postcode. Orders are therefore accepted on the understanding that the correct delivery postcode has been supplied. Large orders may incur extra p&p but we will contact you to advise you of any changes.
Mainland U.K. (Except the Scottish Highlands) - Some items are p&p inclusive but most items will incur a £8.95 carriage charge which will be added to your order. Where only one light item (under 1kg) is ordered a cheaper rate of £4.50 will apply.
Outside Mainland U.K. - For Northern Ireland, Eire, the Channel Islands and offshore islands such as the Isle of Wight, Isle of Man and Scilly Isles, carriage charges depend on the postcode area and the items that you order. The carriage charge to Eire is £22.00. Please contact us regarding postage rates for lighter items weighing less then 1kg in weight, before placing any order. Large orders may incur extra p&p but we will contact you to advise you of any changes.
Overseas Orders - Currently, we can only accept orders on-line for despatch to the United Kingdom, Eire and the Channel Islands.
Payment - Orders are accepted on the understanding that your account will be charged as soon as we receive your order. Many of our products are available for forward ordering. We clearly indicate these products with the expected delivery dates on the site.
At the present time we are unable to accept payment using promotional vouchers and gift vouchers over the internet. Vouchers can only be redeemed with orders sent in by post and the voucher must accompany the order. Unfortunately we do not accept National Garden Gift Vouchers.
Dates of Despatch and Acknowledgement of Orders
Plants will be despatched as soon as possible, when ready. Unless otherwise stated, this should be within 28 days. An acknowledgement of order will be sent by return e-mail.
Please note that bare rooted fruit trees, canes, bushes and hedging are despatched from late November/December. Orders placed after this time will normally be delivered within 28 days of the order being placed. In order to keep postage costs to a minimum, if they are ordered with any other item that incurs postage and packing then the whole order will be sent at this time. Bare-rooted items are normally available for despatch between late November/December and late March/early April each year.
Sometimes we are unable to supply the variety or varieties requested. In this event we will send the nearest alternative unless you ask us not to do so. If a similar alternative is not available we will contact you by e-mail.
If for any reason you need to cancel your order, please advise us immediately. As long as the order has not already been despatched, we will ensure the order is cancelled. Special Order items (i.e. goods manufactured to order) cannot be cancelled.
Returns and Refunds
We are sure that you will be delighted with your purchase from Ken Muir, but in the unlikely event you are not, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery to arrange a replacement or refund for the value of the goods. Special Order items (i.e. goods manufactured to order) cannot be returned. Special Order items that are faulty will be replaced.

If the goods are damaged or faulty we will collect them at our expense. Otherwise, goods must be returned to us within 7 days of delivery at your expense. Refunds will be processed within 30 days of the agreement to refund, and will be credited to the debit/credit card used for payment.
*Varieties marked with an asterisk
These varieties are protected by the legislation governing Plant Breeders' Rights. It is an infringement of Plant Breeders' Rights to propagate from them for resale without a licence from the holder of the Rights. Varieties marked with a double asterisk ** are pending a grant.
All fruit stocks despatched to U.K. & N.I. addresses are guaranteed for six months from the date of despatch.
In the event that any plant should die within the guarantee period, a free replacement will be sent, provided the plant has not been neglected, overwatered or planted in an unsuitable site and the failure has been reported to us within the guarantee period. We reserve the right to ask for the plant(s) to be returned to us for examination. When replacement plants are sent our carriage and packing charges are applicable. It should be understood that replacement plants are offered as a gesture of goodwill, not an admission of liability.
At Ken Muir Nurseries, we offer an after-sales advisory service. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any query you might have about growing fruit. The advice is free and ongoing and covers all aspects of fruit management.
