Wild Asparagus 'Amaro Montina' (pack of 10 crowns)
This ancient Italian asparagus has been improved upon by growers in the Venice area, where it originated and was harvested by local people from the woods and sold on the streets. The plants are very vigorous, but because it is a wild asparagus the spears are thinner with a very good flavour, somewhere between that of white and green asparagus. It is also high in antioxidants. It shows excellent immunity to rust and fusarium wilt, and even tolerates dry and coastal conditions which are not usually favourable to asparagus cultivation. Highly recommended.
Price includes p&p to mainland U.K.
Available for despatch from mid April until May 2017.
