Saskatoon (Juneberry) 'Northline'
Produces attractive white flowers in spring (mid-late May) followed by an abundance of large, high quality, dark blue berries in July that have a wonderful sweet flavour. Excellent for eating fresh, or for cooking it starts to bear fruit from a young age. ‘Northline’ flowers/fruits about a week later than our other Saskatoon variety ‘Smoky’.
‘Northline’ has an upright habit and will reach a maximum height and spread of approximately 2.4-3.7m (8-12ft), but this can be kept down if required. It is best grown in any good well-drained, moisture retentive soil, in full sun to partial shade and is fully hardy, although like most Saskatoons it flowers early so it is best to avoid planting it in a frost pocket.
‘Northline’ is and does not need a pollination partner, although fruiting may be improved if it is grown with another variety of Saskatoon.
Plants are supplied in 3 litre pots.
Plants are available for despatch between late August and March.
