Apples

Apples are the most reliable and popular of the tree fruits with varieties suitable for almost all parts of Britain. The wide range of varieties means good quality and fine flavoured fruit can be provided over a long season. Ken Muir’s apple trees are grafted on M26 semi-dwarfing rootstocks making them most suitable for bush trees, cordons and espaliers. Bush apple trees on M26 grow to 2.5-3.5m (8-12ft) in height and should be spaced 3-4.5m (10-15ft) apart.

If you have a small garden, certain varieties are available as Minarettes which are ideal as they can be planted as close as 60cm (2ft) apart.
