Croquet Sets

Croquet remains a specialist area and we are delighted to stock a full range of sets for all levels of player.

How much space do you need to play croquet?

A full size court measures 35yds by 28yds and a short court 24yds by 16yds. These are the sizes of Courts at Croquet Clubs, but are too big for most garden croquet players. For courts of this size it is essential that the grass is like a bowling or putting green. On a full size Court, or even a short court, if the grass is too long or the lawn is bumpy, it can become totally unplayable, even by the most experienced player.

When playing Croquet in your garden a smaller area is much better. The important thing to be able to do is to hit the ball from end to end of the Court easily and without strain. If you cannot do this because the grass is too long, lush or bumpy, reduce the size of the Court. Probably the smallest area to get a good game of Croquet is 8yds by 12yds.
