Gifted to the Benedictine nuns at Cecilia’s Abbey in Ryde on the Isle of Wight, a young sapling apple tree of unknown origin was once planted within the beautiful and peaceful walled gardens that overlook the Solent.  There it grew and flourished producing an abundance of stunning white blossom each spring, tinged with delicate shades of pink,  followed by heavy crops of outstanding flavoured apples.  Noticing that the fruit was something really special it was decided that it should be propagated and now the trees are available to purchase with a charitable donation from the sale of every tree being made to St Cecilia’s to help with the upkeep of the Abbey.

‘Little Pax’® is a rich, aromatic dessert apple with a superb sweet flavour and an essence similar to honeydew melon. It produces highly attractive 'pearmain' shaped fruits that are medium in size and have a crunchy red/orange flushed skin that gives way to a smooth, juicy flesh. It also stores well.  We are confident that this outstanding variety will soon become a family favourite!

Apple trees are grafted on a M26 rootstock and will reach an eventual height of 2.5-3.5m (8-12ft). Trees should be planted 3-4.5m (10-15ft) apart.

Apple trees are available for delivery from late November until late March.

Please remember that fruit trees do require staking for the first few years of their life, we also strongly recommend the use of rootgrow™ when planting to encourage strong root growth and aid establishment.

Tree stakes, rootgrow™ and fruit tree feed can be found by clicking on the 'related products' tab above.
